Joe Vs. The Bundt Cake

What can I say...there are no words. Instead of taking it easy, and simply meeting the bar, Joe decided to out do all previous Bundt presentations and raise the bar so high the next Bundt baker will be Pole Jumping to meet expectations.

Complete with a video presentation (the mention of which made the entire Jerseylicious crew groan and laugh simultaneously) Joe introduced us to a land called "New Jersey" where starvation had hit hard. Who could save the day? Why non other than Joe "Scott Pilgram" Hatton, the aptly titled Hero.

As Joe "Scott Pilgram" began his quest to end New Jersey' starvation epidemic, his Bundt baking plan was immediately cut short as he discovered his sifter had been stolen! The dasterdly villan who was responsible was none other than Bruce Springsteen, of Brian McCarthy fame.

What followed was a nerve-wracking (or stomach-wracking, as I'm sure all of our abs were sore from laughter) battle which included Eva's Sex Trafficking Barbies, Mikiko's sexy but dangerous Savage Men, Ramin's gang of Heartbreak Kids, and of course, Nick's vicious Jaws. Once Joe "Scott Pilgram" had defeated all of Springsteen's minions, it was time to face the Boss himself.

And epic battle of epic epicness ensued, and Joe "Scott Pilgram" Hatton, defeated the evil Springsteen to recover the stolen sifter, and bring an end to the "New Jersey" starvation crisis of 2010.

The entire crew enjoyed a delicious Carrot Cake Bundt, with Brown Sugar icing. By lunchtime, there were only crumbs left...

Man Eater Bundt

While many of you may not have been alive in 1916, Nick remembers well the Jersey Shore Shark attacks of that horrific summer. This experience, as well as the Jaws theme running through Episode 2, inspired him to educate us all on this important event.

As Nick emerged from his Edit Suite, he immediately caught our attention with a newspaper covered Bundt Shape.

Possibly the most deeply researched of all Bundt Cakes, the Jersey Man Eater Bundt, was accompanied by a Wikipedia article (which we all know is the most reliable source on the web), newspaper clippings from the Philadelphia Inquirer, a license plate, and bloody white chocolate teeth.

This Bundt was a white cake thoroughly covered in food dye icing with syrupy and bloody white chocolate teeth. How could we ever defeat this awesome creature? All was not lost, as Nick immediately bunted Joe "Scott Pilgrim" Hatton as the Hero who could save the day. The cake was quickly devoured, leaving many to wonder if perhaps one cake might not be enough for this Jerseylicious crew.

For all interested here is the Wiki Article on the 1916 Jersey Shark attacks (which inspired the book Jaws, which is inspired the movie Jaws, which then inspired the video game and
Jaws! : The Musical)

Heartbreak Bundt

Ramin's Bundt was going to be held up to very high standards after Matt's complicated Bundting. Matt created an entire Avid Screen mock-up to Bundt Ramin on Friday afternoon. Look closely, not all is as it seems...

On Monday, Ramin brought in his Heartbreak Bundt. The Bundt was shaped into a heart, sliced right down the middle to represent the heartache of every Break-Up. Each character...ahem...person, was represented. Girls on one side, boys on the other.

This Red Velvet Bundt may not have been Vegan, but not for lack of trying. Ramin, who has been converting to Vegan-ism ("with an 80% success rate") had baked 2 previous Vegan Bundt cakes with cardboard like results. Finally he gave into temptation, and bought a Red Velvet cake from a Bakery. But in order to create the desired heart shape, Ramin baked yet another Red Velvet cake to complete this complicated Bundt. Making his total: 3 Bundt Cakes!!

Us humans were not the only one salivating at this delicious Heartbreak Bundt. Togi, Brian's rescue dog from Alaska, was back again! He knew how good this Heart Shaped Bundt was going to be.

Sonic Bundt

It was Matt Pickel's turn to create a Bundt, and he went all out. Baking a Red Velvet Cake, which stained his fingers red, Matt sculpted a Sonic Inspired Bundt which referenced the Epic Fight between Olivia and Tracy.

I'm sure the rest of you fondly remember your first weave pulling/ name calling/ eye spitting fight; and if it wasn't set in a Sonic Parking Lot, then you must have been on the West Coast.

Matt also brought in the completely real WANTED posters from New Jersey, which showed one of our own, Chris Lamson, being wanted for questioning. Further proof of how seriously the Police moniter the "Jerseylicious" drama.

So now, after an intense Smirnoff Friday last week, where countless people were Iced (we are all still recovering), we await the next great Bundt cake. (And secretly hide warm Smirnoff Ices in our desk drawers, awaiting the inevitable come Friday afternoon).

Savage Bundt

Another Jerseylicious episode inspires a dirty, sexy Bundt. This time around Mikiko was inspired by the strip club "Savage Men" the Jerseylicious girls attended, and created a Male Strip Club Themed Bundt.

Mikiko is a master multi-tasker, and as she unveiled her gorgeous chocolate on chocolate Bundt, she simultaneously Bundted Matt Pickel as a Welcome Back!

Complete with Male Strippers, sprinkles and one very large Bannana, Mikiko's Savage Men Bundt was a rich, heavy chocolate cake accompanied by mini bundts, for the strawberry and vanillas lovers on the staff.

Human Sex Trafficking Bundt

Recently Alexa brought the Jerseylicious Crews' attention to an important social rights issue, one that is close to all our hearts due to it's popularity in Jersey: Human Sex Trafficking.

When Alexa isn't comparing her photo-shoots to "AntiChrist" or throwing office supplies at people's heads, she is deeply troubled, and inspired, by Human Sex Trafficking, and all that is has to offer to young girls.

Eva, who has closely followed Alexa's discovery of this inspirational issue, felt a flowery and lemon flavored Bundt would best represent this "glamorous" (Alexa's word) issue.
Complete with scantily clad Barbie dolls, Eva's Bundt was quickly devoured, leaving only the flowers and dolls behind...

And now, the only way to end this post is with Alexa's eloquent description of Human Sex Trafficking:
"So you have the two girls they're not completely drugged out yet and then you have like the one just kind of totally drugged and they're being transported or they're like in some headquarters where they're waiting to be transported again...so it's glamorous...but it's showing a story"

I couldn't have explained it better myself.

Fire and Ice Bundt

Taking a cue from "Jerseylicious" Episode 1, Evan baked a Bundt based on the Hoppin' Club "Fire&Ice".

The 'classy-ness' of this Bundt spoke for itself, when it began to mysteriously sound out the "Jerseylicious" theme song (perhaps Evan baked the cake while listening to the music, and the Bundt soaked up the fabulousness that is the Jerseylicious theme song...how else was this possible? we are all still wondering). Suddenly the Bundt cake spoke! "Eva Anderson...consider yourself Bundted!".

But the drama didn't end there...a long stream of classic Tracy/Olivia fight scenes began to permeate through the room, reminding us how classy our leading ladies truly are.

If only "Fire&Ice" actually served this delicious piece of cake, maybe there would be less fighting between fellow club-goers...
